Sailing Towards Nettuno
Lazio is a region in central Italy, bordered by Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Marche, Molise, Campania and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Nettuno, a resort and an agricultural centre, is situated on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea and is a popular tourist destination with well preserved old quarter, the Borgo Medievale and the Sangallo Fort built in the 1500s. Nettuno is an important centre of pilgrimage to the shrine of Saint Maria Goretti where lie the remains of the saint. The privately owned Villa Costaguti-Borghese at Nettuno, built in 1648, has a park designed in 1840s, and is now under nature reserve protection. Nettuno has a tourist harbour, which hosts about 860 boats and is a popular yachting destination.
